Granada civic, academic, and business leaders launched a national and international promotional campaign on Thursday to reassure visitors and investors following recent earthquakes.
The initiative, spearheaded by the public and private partnership body Agencia Granada Global, aims to project a message of safety, normal daily life, and economic resilience across key European and international markets.

Agency officials announced that the province has proven to be an ideal location to live, visit, study, conduct business, invest, and host major events despite ongoing seismic activity that began in mid-August.
Funding and institutional support
Granada Mayor Marifrán Carazo presented the joint campaign alongside Francis Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Council of Granada, Pedro Mercado, rector of the University of Granada, and Gerardo Cuerva, president of the Granada Chamber of Commerce.
The four participating institutions will deploy their respective communication channels and networks, backed by an initial budget of 300,000 euros to execute public relations and strategic influence operations.
Organizers have also asked local residents and business owners, particularly those with connections across Spain, to help spread positive updates about the city's operational stability.
Carazo said Granada remained prepared, more than ever, to welcome visitors and enterprise, adding that two weeks of seismic activity had demonstrated the province's capacity to continue moving forward.
Target international markets
The campaign will target priority markets in Spain and Europe, concentrating efforts on Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Outside Europe, organizers plan specific promotional actions in the United States and Asia, tailoring initiatives to match commercial, academic, and industrial opportunities in each region.
Alongside its global reputation for historical culture, the campaign will highlight Granada's growing ecosystem in artificial intelligence, scientific research, healthcare, technology, and university innovation.
Background and regional significance
Granada is a major city and provincial capital in the southern Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia, situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
The city is renowned worldwide for its rich Moorish architecture, including the Alhambra palace complex and historic landmarks such as the Elvira Gate, which served as a primary entrance to the city during the Nasrid dynasty.

By coordinating institutional outreach, Agencia Granada Global aims to connect decision-makers and investors directly with the province's key economic sectors and scientific projects in the coming months.
