Glen Wadsworth, the father of Ellidy Pullin's new fiance Brock Wadsworth, has spoken publicly for the first time about the long-running feud between Ellidy and Chris Pullin, the father of her late partner, champion snowboarder Chumpy Pullin.
Ellidy, a Gold Coast influencer, was Chumpy's long-term girlfriend when he drowned while spear-fishing at Palm Beach in 2020. This week she announced her engagement to Queensland builder Brock Wadsworth.
"I've heard about it but I try to keep out of that stuff. I've got seven kids and two stepkids. [Chris and Ellidy] are big people and have to sort it out for themselves," Glen said, during a chaotic interview with the Daily Mail.
Before Glen was reached, his wife Justine gave a preview of what to expect. "I don't know if you should speak to him, he'll probably say something inappropriate. He's just a larrikin," she said, adding that the couple were "very happy" for Brock and Ellidy.
Glen, 68, is the founder of Wadsworth Construction, an Australian and New Zealand company where Brock serves as managing director. During the call, a woman could be heard trying to take his phone away, shouting, "No offence to you, but we're not talking to the bloody Daily Mail!" Glen said the voice belonged to one of his daughters, who did not want him speaking to the paper. The call was briefly switched to FaceTime as she tried to hang up. Glen went on to confirm he thought it was "great news" that Brock had proposed to Ellidy during a European holiday.
The rift with Chumpy's family
Ellidy has faced calls to give up the Pullin surname, which she took by deed poll after Chumpy died despite the pair never marrying or getting engaged. Chris Pullin has indicated he would prefer she change her name to Wadsworth once she remarries, given she no longer has a relationship with most of Chumpy's family.
Chris believes Ellidy blocked him and his now-late wife Sally in 2024 following a dispute over a charity foundation set up in Chumpy's name. He has not seen his four-year-old granddaughter Minnie since she was a baby. Minnie was born via IVF after Chumpy's parents gave Ellidy permission to harvest their son's sperm in the days after his death.
A shared tragedy
Glen and Chris share a similar loss: both men's wives died of cancer. Glen's wife Jill died aged 55 in 2013. A death notice for Jill in the Courier-Mail said she was "dearly loved and cherished by Glen, Shae, Carly, Joshua, Korinne, Kane and Brock, their partners and grandchildren." Chris's wife Sally died at home in April 2025 after suffering from Central Nervous System Lymphoma.
Asked if he felt any solidarity with Chris over their similar losses, Glen, who has since remarried to Justine, said: "Not at all, I don't know the guy. I'm more concerned with the kids [Ellidy and Brock] and they're doing great."
Political ties
Ellidy, who grew up on Sydney's Northern Beaches and met Chumpy at a social gathering, is marrying into a family with strong ties to the One Nation Party. Glen ran for the seat of Currumbin in 2020 and confirmed he remains a card-carrying member of Pauline Hanson's party.
"I did it because I support One Nation as a patriot," he said. "I am still a member, but I won't be [running] again, because it wasn't a very fun thing to do. People say you're a racist and all this s**t... not true. Politics is a mug's game."
One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts has described Glen as someone who has "run his own construction company for about the last 30 years, employing on average 200 employees." Roberts added: "Glen is sick of the two tired old parties never delivering what they promise. He is a widower and has seven adult children and currently seven grandchildren. Clearly he has a wealth of various life experiences, both good and bad, whilst a typical knockabout, streetwise Aussie larrikin who has been a Pauline Hanson supporter since she entered politics."
Talk of a sibling for Minnie
On Thursday, Ellidy, 34, posted an Instagram reel in which she could be heard soothing a frustrated Minnie and asking if she was "excited to have a sibling one day."
Several of Glen's children work for his construction firm, and many have made him a grandfather already. Asked about the prospect of more grandchildren through Brock, Glen said: "That's up to the kids, but I'd suggest it would be inevitable. But anyway, [the engagement] is great news, good for them."
Brock has been dating Ellidy for more than a year, having initially been friends with her through mutual Gold Coast connections, and has become a father figure to Minnie. Ellidy told Body+Soul in 2024 that she and Minnie call Chumpy "Daddy in the Sky" so that Minnie would one day be free to call someone else her dad. In the same interview, she said she hoped to give Minnie a sibling but did not expect to use the one remaining embryo created with Chumpy, saying, "I'm happy with Minnie being a little Chumpy, and I think one day I will find someone and have another baby [with them]."
