Allan, a young player for the Kavala-based club Vyron Kavala, was injured on Sunday during the second minute of a fixture at Panagia stadium. He lost his balance during a challenge for the ball near the touchline and fell backward, hitting the back of his head against the pitch perimeter fence.
The impact caused the teenager to lose consciousness on the field. Emergency services rushed him to the Intensive Care Unit at Kavala Hospital, where doctors treated him until he died on Tuesday morning, September 29.
Officers from the Thasos police department, working alongside the Kavala Prosecutor's Office, are examining whether the Panagia facility complied with required safety standards. The inquiry is assessing whether necessary protective measures were in place for matches involving minor athletes.

A central focus of the on-site inspection involves measuring the exact distance between the pitch boundary lines and the surrounding wall and fencing. Investigators noted that Allan struck his head at a point located very close to the active playing area.

As part of the preliminary inquiry, officials are reviewing the licensing history of the Panagia sports facility. Police are verifying whether venue management strictly followed safety regulations during the organization of Sunday's match.
