Amazon Prime Video has released 'Enfrentados: Marfil', the first installment in a two-film adaptation of Argentine-born Spanish author Mercedes Ron's 'Enfrentados' book series, starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García. The film premiered on the streaming platform on September 9, 2026.
The story follows Marfil Cortés, a wealthy young woman living in New York whose life changes after an attempted kidnapping. Her father, an influential businessman, hires Sebastián Moore as her private bodyguard, and their forced cohabitation sparks an emotional bond marked by tension and secrets.
Main Cast and Characters
Spanish actress Ester Expósito plays the title role of Marfil Cortés. Expósito is best known for playing Carla in the Netflix series 'Élite' and has also appeared in 'Venus' and 'Tu Hijo'. In 'Marfil', she plays a defiant young woman who faces threats to her safety while uncovering family secrets. Expósito is in a relationship with footballer Kylian Mbappé.
Spanish-French actor Hugo Diego García, known for the series 'Control Z', plays Sebastián Moore, the bodyguard hired to protect Marfil. His character is described as reserved and disciplined, which creates friction with Marfil before an attraction develops between them.

Pablo Molinero, known for the series 'La peste', plays Alejandro Cortés, Marfil's father, a powerful businessman whose influence proves central to the plot.
