“The Hunger Games” returns to theaters with a pre-Katniss Everdeen story. The prequel was called “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and until now its release date in our country was a mystery, but we can finally confirm that the film will be released in Spanish theaters on November 17th starting in 2023just like in the United States.

“Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents” is set chronologically several decades before the events of the first “Hunger Games” movie. The plot focuses on the character of Coriolanus Snow, a very ambitious young man who will become the leader and tyrant of Panem, the fictional country of this saga. The film will also closely follow Lucy Graid Baird, a character from District 12.. Rachel Zegler (‘West Side Story’) and Tom Blyth (‘The Golden Age’) will star in this new installment and will play Lucy and Snow respectively.
In addition to Zegler and Blyth, the cast also includes Hunter Schafer (“Euphoria”), Viola Davis (“How To Get Away With Murder”), Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), Josh Andrés Rivera (“West Side Story ‘ ), Jason Schwartzman (“Fargo”), Ashley Liao (“Forced Mothers”) and Mackenzie Lansing (“Mare of Easttown”), who they will play mentors and tributes (participants in the games) from the different districts of Panem.
As in the case of the four films in the saga, “The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents” is the film adaptation of the eponymous book of adventure and science fiction written by Suzanne Collins.
