Look, I love the original movie! It was just one of my favorite films as a kid and over the course of the year Gilliam had tried to continue the story in a sequel, but he was never able to get it off the ground. Now we’re getting this serial adaptation of Waititi, and I guess we’ll just have to see how it turns out.

I would like nothing more than to be great! Only time will tell. Waititi has made some great movies and TV shows in his career and I hope he can make it Bandits of time series out.

The original film follows the adventures of an 11-year-old boy named Kevin who, one night, runs into six dwarves emerging from his closet. They are former workers of the Supreme Being who have stolen a map that traces all the holes in the space-time fabric, using it to jump from one historical era to another in order to steal riches. During the film, they meet various historical and fictional characters, including Napoleon Bonaparte and Robin Hood, while the Supreme Being simultaneously tries to reach them and retrieve the map.

The film starred Sean Connery, John Cleese, Shelley Duvall, Ralph Richardson, Katherine Helmond, Ian Holm, Michael Palin, Peter Vaughan And David Warner.
