Apogee Entertainment is a name that many older gamers will remember from titles like Duke Nukem And Raptor: The call of the shadows at the time and new fans may know them from titles like Excessive turbo.
Now, they have teamed up with Eric Manahan by The Matte Black Studio to announce a new adventure platformer called GLOSSY. Described as a Celestoidvania, the action-packed game will try to follow “the motion technology of.” Heavenlythe precision platforming of History of the caveand the world-building of Anime-like giants. It looks like a pretty tall order and if they take it out it will be great.
Explore Aedyn, an enigmatic land full of crystals, in the wake of the apocalyptic Great Fall. The Shiny Giant has fallen and only the few remaining Sentinels, practitioners of the Crystal Arts, can stop the corruption that soaks the earth. Fight as Oenn, a young stone-skinned Sentinel. She searches for the shattered pieces of the Shiny Giant and confronts the ancient celestial entity that threatens Aedyn.
While you play GLOSSY, you will collect five Crystal Arts after completing the dungeons. These will improve your combat skills and mobility to help you defeat stronger enemies and reach previously inaccessible areas. You can also equip up to two Crystal Arts at a time and swap them in half combo for more potential. Speaking of the game, Manahan said:
With LUID, I am dedicated to letting players tell what they want about the story, exactly in their own way. From the narrative threads you choose to carry on, to the crystalline arts and motion technology you most embrace, LUID aims to make you write your own legend in a shattered world of platforming bliss.
Scott Miller by Apogee shared:
Apogee began with some pretty popular platform games in the early 90s, such as Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, Cosmo’s Cosmic Canyon, Bio Menace, and Monster Bash. For us, it makes perfect sense to go back to platformers and with LUID we have finally found an innovative one, rich in history and with a super funny protagonist character with a lot of aces up his jacket sleeve.
you can add GLOSSY to your wishlist on Steam now with a planned release date of “COMING SOON”. I’m not holding my breath, though, as the press release says the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S in 2024. Watch the trailer below and let me know if you’re interested. to this game.
