George Romero’s non-produced film RESIDENT EVIL will be the subject of a new documentary

There was a point in the director Giorgio Romerocareer when he was trying to make a Resident Evil movie. In 1998, Romero launched his Resident Evil film with a screenplay he had written for Constantin Films.

Romero’s original script eventually leaked online, was ambitious, and remained relatively close to the source material. It would have been really nice to see Romeo actually do it. Unfortunately, Capcom didn’t like the script due to its violent content, which is funny because IT’S A ZOMBIE MOVIE. Romero directed a Japanese Resident Evil 2 commercial at one point though, which was great.

Well, a documentary is in development that will dive into and explore Romero’s undoing Resident Evil movie. From that document it comes Jason BarefordRomero’s production assistant and director Brandon Salisburyand will be titled Resident Evil by George A. Romero.

During an interview with The Resident Evil Podcast, Salisbury shared that he was looking to pay homage to Romero’s style and the game itself with Resident Evil by George A. Romero. The doc will take place in a building he will remember Resident EvilSpencer Mansion, and will be shot to mimic Romero’s cinematic style.

Resident Evil it was finally made by Paul WS Anderson which came from a screenplay called Not dead, which was reworked in Resident Evil film released in 2002.

Resident Evil by George A. Romero it will be released at some point in 2024.
