Ready to be even more confused about what’s going on at Warner Bros. Discovery regarding their DC movies? The studio has already pulled the plug Bad girland one of the main reasons behind this was to “protect the brand,” according to the CEO David Zaslav. He also stated that DC movie projects were geared towards theatrical releases and not the HBO Max originals.
But TVLine reports that a Warner Bros. spokesperson confirmed that the Birds of prey spin-off film black canary is still in development for HBO Max. I was definitely much more excited to watch the canceled Batgirl movie! No reason is given as to why Black Canary could move forward.
Jurnee Smollett is tasked with reprising the role of Dinah Lance / Black Canary from the film Birds of prey movie. Lovecraft country‘S Misha Green is writing the script for the film. Filming on the film hasn’t started yet, so there’s still time for WB to cancel it if it so desires. But, at the moment, he still has the green light.
It just doesn’t make sense to me why DC is okay with this project going on and on Bad girl. What are your thoughts?
