Shortly after the theatrical release of “The Batman”, it was revealed that the film would have a spin-off series about one of the story’s villains, The Penguin, played by Colin Farrell. Now, it is the actor himself who confirms that the director of that film, Matt Reeves, is also working on the new project on Bruce Wayne’s enemy.

Since it was announced spin off of “The Batman” on The Penguinit was revealed that Colin Farrell reinterprets the antagonist role in the new project. However, no other advancements had been released on the happy production that wowed Gotham Bat and DC Comics fans.

Now, it is Colin Farrell who reveals that the director of “The Batman”, Matt Reeves, works on the spin off of “The Penguin”. Although he hasn’t made it clear what kind of position he holds in the production, he has confirmed that the director would not direct any of the episodes of the series and, moreover, that he usually works on the script of the story.

In interview with ET Entertainment On the occasion of his latest film ‘Thirteen Live’, the actor spoke about the development of ‘Penguin’, as this spin off will be called. In addition to anticipating that the recordings would perhaps begin in late 2022, he also revealed that Matt Reeves was part of the project from behind the scenes.

[Matt Reeves] is in the [serie] ‘The Penguin’. I mean, he’s not going to direct it, but it’s in the whole structure of the scripts and who’s going to direct them. And so, it’s exciting.

At the moment, it is the only thing that has been revealed about the spin off of “El Pingüino”, but it is possible that if the recordings begin at the end of 2022, gradually their first details will be revealed or at least, HBO Max may provide some progress on the project.

Besides “The Penguin”, “The Batman” may have more future

After the great success of ‘The Batman’ and the confirmation of ‘The Penguin’, several rumors have developed about a possible sequel to the film directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson as the Bat of Gotham. Unfortunately, it has so far confirmed that a second film about this story is a reality.

On the other hand, it was revealed that Paul Dano is developing a comic about the villain he played in “The Batman”, El Arcetijo. So far the previews have been very few, but the project is in development and the actor who played this antagonist is very excited and has earned the recognition of the DC Comics fandom.
