It had been a long time since we last had such a powerful month of August in terms of releases. Streaming platforms have decided they don’t want the holidays this summer and are bringing out very heavy artillery to entertain us in the shade of the scorching sun. Although for burning the Targaryens, arriving on HBO Max with the first spin-off of ‘Game of Thrones’: ‘The House of the Dragon’.
Netflix also brings us fantasy, but a little more dreamlike, with the adaptation of ‘Sandman’, the cult comic by Neil Gaiman. They also say goodbye to “I never” and “Locke & Key” with their final seasons.
Disney + gives us no respite for the whole month. At the beginning, ‘Lightyear’ and ‘Predator: The prey’ will premiere. In mid-August we will take over the services of “She-Hulk: Lawyer Hulka”. And we are preparing for September with ‘Andor’, the ‘Star Wars’ series starring Diego Luna.
Returning to HBO Max, marathons are coming with the arrival of such beloved series as “The Office”, “Sherlock” or “Misfits”. Amazon Prime Video premieres ‘Samaritan’, Sylvester Stallone’s new film. Movistar + offers us new previews like “Uncharted”. And much more awaits us this month, in case you are already tired of the beach or the pool.
