The Prequel to “Game of Thrones”, “House of the Dragon”‘, is approaching the premiere and before that, its protagonists have given themselves the space to tell a little about the essence, the story and the creation of the series. In between, the actors revealed what their process was like for learning to “ride dragons”.

In a recent interview with Weekly entertainmentthe “House of the Dragon” stars reveal what “riding dragons” was like and how were the recordings of the series, noting that they are quite different from what was experienced behind the scenes of its predecessor, “Game of Thrones”.

To “climb” a dragon, it was not that there was a mythical creature of this artistically scaled style, but that dull blacksmith Y Emma D’Arcy They were mounted on a kind of mechanical seat designed to simulate the back of the flying reptile, something very similar to a mechanical bull in Mexico. Everything else was illustrated and designed through technological tools in post-production.

The dragons on the set are kind of a big back, which is a kind of mechanical rodeo cavalry that moves all over the place. And they put the wind in your face and add dragons in post production.

However, Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy say that the feeling when they stepped into the mechanical seat was fantastic because they placed a fan in front of them to simulate the wind that hit their face when they rode their respective creature and that made them made to feel like when you stick your head out in the car.

There is a lot of wind, it’s similar to when you get out of the car with your head, “he added.

“House of the Dragon” will have more than 10 mythical dragons

Since ‘House of the Dragon’ started being developed on HBO Max, it was rumored that the series would have more dragons than seen in ‘Game of Thrones’, because only the three could be shown in the latter. Daeneys Targaryen: Drogon, Viserion and Rhaegal; being the last of his family and his legacy, presumably.

However, as the “House of the Dragon” is 300 years before the GOT and is set in one of the times when Westeros was ruled by the Targaryen family, the only one to breed dragons; it was to be expected that many more of these epic creatures could be seen.

Now, it has been confirmed that the series will have many more of these beings, because during Comic Con of 2022, the creators of the GOT prequel announced that 17 dragons would be seen on screen. The truth is, until now, it is unknown how many will be from each Targaryen. “House of the Dragon” will debut August 21 in the HBO Max catalog.
