Currently, action cinema is experiencing a new golden age thanks to technical advances that have changed the way movies are shot. There are many films of this genre – apart from superheroes – that fill theaters every year. Now, the producers of two of the biggest franchises, “John Wick” and “Fast & Furious”, join forces in “The Princess”. It’s a medieval story about how the princess of a kingdom must defeat the villains who have taken control of her kingdom, led by a fearsome villain who wants to marry her to rule legitimately.
The brave princess in question is actress Joey King, who leads a project in which blood and explicit and spectacular violence are a constant throughout its hour and a half of filming. At eCartelera we had the opportunity to speak with King and ask him how this experience was. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done”assures the actresswho confesses that he only had two months to learn how to fight why “I didn’t know anything about fighting before”.
Furthermore, he reveals that he has many doubts about his ability to achieve it. Because above all ‘The Princess’ is a very fast-paced action movie. “Reading the script, the film was already very violent and crazy”explains the king, “It was 92 or 95 pages of pure action”. Like this, “I knew I should have given my best”. And it is that the final goal of the young performer is the audience that sees her “have a good time”.
A movie made for the console
The dynamic of “The Princess” is as simple as defeating enemy after enemy without stopping for a breath. For King, the shoot was “very funny and very difficult”more acknowledges that due to the type of structure of the “go level”the film could become “in a great video game”.
