There has been some big news recently for fans of the Virtual Tabletop Roll20 Ecosystem (VTT). It was recently announced by Roll20 and OneBookShelf that DMs Guild content will soon be officially supported on VTT. Many details are still missing, but the teams are working to ensure that the creators of DMs Guild can integrate the content they create for easier use on Roll20. According to the FAQ, any creator of DMs Guild can participate and Roll20 will help integrate it. More information is on the way and while this is exciting, there are some unknowns to be wary of. However, Emily Floyd of Roll20 says:
At Roll20 we have witnessed the passionate support for DMsGuild content, both from our community and our Creators, and are thrilled to create an easier way to play that fantastic catalog of online content, while expanding the possibilities for players and creators. Creator of DMsGuild.
Meanwhile, Scott Holden from OneBookShelf said:
Our goal has always been to create a space for aspiring designers who love games like us. DMsGuild has been an extension of this philosophy, providing a new opportunity for the gaming community, and we now have a shared mission with Roll20 to open an even wider space for creators to distribute and profit from their work.
I wonder if other OneBookShelf brands will have the same opportunity. I think Roll20 is a great VTT and honestly one thing that has held me back in the past for integrating some great content from DMs Guild is all the prep work I would have had to do. Having an easier way to bring my purchased content would go a long way for me. Are you excited about this news?
