Peacock’s new comic thriller The resort will be released on July 28 with the first three episodes with new episodes streaming weekly. The series will focus on a couple on their anniversary journey with their relationship put to the test as they find themselves embroiled in one of the Yucatan’s most bizarre unsolved mysteries that took place 15 years earlier.
It’s an adult love story disguised as a frenzied mystery about the disappointment of time. Andy Siarashowrunner, writer and executive producer said this:
The Resort speaks of many things. There are large swings and small swings. He is someone who looks back on their life and tries to remember the good times, mixed with a 5 year old who plays with toys in the garden. He never takes himself too seriously, but he gets pretty serious sometimes. I guess, in essence, these are people who want to go back to a time in life where things seemed a little easier, before the difficult parts of life kept piling up. These are people who are trying to regain that feeling of home. And within it, there is a great mystery.
There seems to be some lofty goals for this show, so we’ll see how it manages to accomplish these things. The show is the protagonist William Jackson Harper, Cristina Milioti, Nick Offerman, Skyler Gisondo, Luis Gerardo Mendez, Nina BloomgardenAnd Gabriela Cartoli.
