Harry King Television is giving Sherlock Holmes an animated socket in a new project that is using the working title Animated Sherlockwith Shrek producer David Lipman Set up to guide the project together with the company’s CEO Nicholas Sercombo.
The production company based in London and Los Angeles has revealed plans for the series of cartoons, which will draw on the unexpected adventures of Sherlock Holmes novels of the novels while marking a departure from the live roots of the franchise.
Lipman’s credits not only include the first two Shrek Movie, but also The Ren and StimPy show AND The story of DespereauxIn addition to live-action films including Serenity AND The professor. The creative team expands with the addition of Michael Ryan, known for the animated characteristics Planet 51 AND Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hanktogether with Tim John, he worked on A street cat named Bob.
Variety reports that “the animated series will stand out for mature spectators, structuring every season around the mysterious central arches while connecting individual episodes to the original canon of Doyle. The show promises to explore the background of the characters for Holmes, Watson, Mrs. Hudson and Moriarty through a contemporary lens aimed at demography for international adults.”
