The Marvel film universe loves to guess fans. With each new release and Disney+theatrical release, the MCU continues to expand in ways that constantly surprise us.
One of the most interesting output projects is Spider-Man: New daythat is not just giving us another chapter in the story of Peter Parker, but also by marking the debut on the big screen of Jon BernhalPunisher.
And now there is a new voice that Frank Castle may not work alone. A reliable MTSH scooper relationship suggests:
“In Spider-Man: New Day, Punisher has a partner to help him trace and kill criminals. They are now turning huge action scenes with the two chasing and trying to kill the bad guys of Spider-Man.”
This is a wild detail to consider. The first thing that came to mind was Giorgia Whigham’s Amy Bendix, who played an important role in The punisher Season 2 on Netflix.
Amy ended up crossing paths with Frank after a job went horribly crooked and her entire crew was massacred. Their reluctant partnership turned into a real link by the end of the season and, although they separated, their connection seemed that it could have been revisited in future stories.
Obviously, we do not know if this item is actually eliminated, or if the mysterious “female partner” even proves to be Amy. However, with the MCU that slowly intertwines more than Netflix characters in current projects, it does not feel completely out of reach.
We have already seen Charlie CoxReturn Daredevil, Daredevil: born again is bringing Krysten RitterJessica Jones back to the pupil and Bernhal himself is proof that Marvel has not finished with these favorite portraits by fans.
Having Amy appear as an ally of Frank would be a fantastic way to keep that spirit of the Netflix era alive while giving deeper to the Bernhal punishment in his debut in MCU. It also helps that Amy is not a typical “partner”. He is enterprising, lasts and knows how to survive, which makes it natural for the war on Castle’s crime.
Only time will say if this item turns out to be true, but the possibility is exciting.
