Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson says

Disney’s live-action remakes have had Hit and Miss reactions. Some were fun, while others were boring Rehashes and for a while it seemed that the study would have just redone every animated feature they had ever done.

But they took a point after the latest flops and slowed down in their remake plans, putting films like Tangled On the backburner. Now we have news of another film that seems that it will not be made.

Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, member of the band The Roots, musical director for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonand Oscar winner for the documentary Summer of Soul (… or, when the revolution could not be television)He was lined up to direct the live remake of the classic animated musical The Aristocati.

But Thompson explained during an interview this week on the score: the podcast that this project is no longer going on.

“A new administration has arrived, and then I was like ‘okay, well, this is what I intend to do, and Dadada, make the song and dance, and here are some of the musical examples, and there is some teams that I am working with Dadada.”

And then they had another administrative confusion, and it was like “okay. Okay. ‘ And the third time I was just like, “perhaps this is not thought for me, because there is also, at least, as at this moment, there are so many options in the gather.”

Questlove said that “he would have liked to have done that project”, but he explained that “there are another 20 to which I can reach … there are literally four other films. I will work until, you know, 2029, 2030. So, it shouldn’t happen. Maybe it will happen in the future.”

As for music, this would have been a fun project to face. Some great classic melodies with which he could have worked, but Disney could really benefit from turning away from remakes and leaning again on the original content.
