Ubisoft’s wild and unpredictable Far cry The gaming franchise could soon lead to its mix of chaos, danger and psychological twists dark on TV. According to reports, FX is developing a Far cry TV series that will adapt the property of long-standing video games in a live-action anthology.
The news emerged for the first time after Ubisoft accidentally published an ad on his official website before pulling him down quickly. Reddit users managed to capture the details, triggering immediate speculation on the type of chaos that the adaptation could provide.
Launched for the first time in 2004, Far cry It is a series of first -person shooters famous for leaving players in exotic and volatile places, where tactical fighting, moral and unforgettable dilemmas clash.
Over the years, they have given fans extraordinary titles such as Far Cry 3 (2012) with his favorite villain by fans Vaas Montenegro, Far Cry 5 (2018) e Far Cry 6 (2021). While the franchise was praised for its engaging worlds and the freedom of the players, the most recent voices have faced criticism to stick too much to a formula.
The now removed Ubisoft page revealed that the series is set to be co-creating from Rob Mcelhenney (There is always the sun in Philadelphia, Mythical search, Welcome to Wrexham) AND Noah Hawley (Flour, Alien: earth). According to reports, Hawley will act as a showrunner, while Mcelhenney should be the protagonist.
Executive producers will include McElhenney, Hawley and Jackie Cohn For better productions, Michael Garcia for 26Kys Productions, Nick Frenkel for 3arts Entertainment and Ubisoft’s Gerard Guillemot, Margaret BoykinAND Austin dill.
“This collaboration is truly an embarrassment of wealth,” said Boykin, head of the cinematographic and television content of Ubisoft Film & Television. “Far Cry is a psychological tail that does not avoid the darkest and more absurd parts of humanity, which perfectly aligns with the fx’s bold and fearless narration style.”
Reports suggest that the FX adaptation will follow an anthological format, with each season that introduces a new setting and a cast, reflecting the autonomous nature of the games.
While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the project, it adapts to the recent push of the company to expand its largest franchises on TV and movies. Ubisoft constituted a dedicated transmedia division after a huge investment of 1.16 billion euros (about 1.87 billion dollars) from Tencent, with Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow SixAND Far cry All about artexesia for wider entertainment initiatives.
If these relationships are true, FX Far cry The series could easily become an incredibly ambitious video game adaptation supported by an electric creative team and a network that thrives on a strong narrative guided by the character.
