Instead, the sequel plans to joke completely with the card, pushing the mythology of the family Le Domas twisted in new and dark corners without revealing what has made it thus chilling to begin.
In a recent chat with the comic on his new Apple TV+ movie Fountain of youthVanderbilt gave fans some details chosen with care on the film, enough to intrigue, but not booty.
“There are a couple of different ways in which we are doing it. I don’t want to give anything … what I will tell is one of the reasons why it took a minute to do this sequel is that we were really difficult with ourselves not only to repeat what was the first film, but also not to lose the sauce of what was the first film.”
It is an intelligent strategy. The original film, anchored by Samara textureGrace Final Final Girl, managed to travel a thin line between brutal horror and pungent satire.
According to Vanderbil, the new film is based on this without letting mythology get stuck too much explanation. When it refers to the amazing ending of the original, he said:
