HBO Max released the first trailer for the highly attacked Stephen King’s horror series IT: Welcome to Derry.
It is one of my favorite horror stories of King and I have always wanted to see the story of Pennywise Terrorizing Derry, so I’m very enthusiastic about this show and it seems fantastic!
The project comes from Andy AND Barbara Muschietti together with Jason FuchsAnd the series promises to immerse yourself in depth in the left story of Derry and in its terrifying form predator, Pennywise.
The first season of Welcome to Derry It is set in 1962, only a few years before the events of IT: Chapter one. From there, the story will move back in time with the second season expected that he explores 1935 and the third season bringing spectators to 1908.
When previously spoke of this unique structure, Muschietti explains: “There is a reason why the story is told on the contrary”.
The story draws inspiration from the interlude in King’s original novel, which describes in detail the research conducted by Mike Hanlon while it is part of the dark story of Derry.
Muschietti explains: “The interludes are basically chapters that reflect the search for Mike Hanlon … fragments of his research. For 27 years, he is the boy who tries to understand what he was, what he did, who did it, who has seen it and all that stuff.”
Each season will be based on catastrophic events related to Pennywise’s terror cycles, which occur every 27 years.
Muschietti makes fun of: “They speak of catastrophic events of the past, such as fire in the black point … the massacre of the Bradley band, a band of banks thieves in the 1930s … and the explosion of the Kitchener Ironworks.”
These historical tragedies form the spine of the three seasons planned, each of which offers a deeper exploration of the Dark past of Derry and the monstrous influence of Pennywise.
Muschietti confirms: “We are based the three seasons of this series on each of these catastrophic events”.
According to reports, with Warner Bros. Felice of how the first season went, there is already a strong interest in quickly tracing the second season.
While fans impatiently await the premiere of the series, it is clear that Welcome to Derry is ready to provide a fresh and terrifying expansion of IT Universe, digging in the roots of horror that has persecuted generations of derry residents. Prepared to witness the history imbued with the blood of this damned city takes place when the series debuts on the HBO by the end of the year.
Here are some details on each of the stories of the trees:
The black point:
The Black Spot is one of the most memorable stories and is told by Mike Hanlon’s father, Will Hanlon, a story that has kept hidden until his last few days. In ItThe second interlude, Mike visits his father in the hospital and listens to his father tells a heartbreaking chapter of his youth.
Years earlier, Will Hanlon and his Air Force military companions had created a night club called The black point, A paradise for black customers in a moment of secretation and rooted racism.
One night, the Legion of the Maine of White Decense, a violent supremist group, burned the club on the ground, killing many innocent people. And while the Legion gave the fire, something much more sinister was hiding in the flames …It himself, taking the form of a monstrous bird, snatching his victims in the fiery chaos.
One of the people inside was a young Dick Halloran of Splendorwho worked in the club’s kitchen.
The Bradley Gang:
The Bradley gang was a group of outlaw the era of depression that arrived in Derry in 1929 to hide from the FBI. They are killed by the members of the Derry community in Canal Street in the middle of the afternoon, while they arrive at the Machen sporting goods store to collect an ammunition expedition.
Mike Hanlon recalls seven members of the Bradley band, although Norbert Keene, who was alive during the ambush, recalls eight members. The gang consists of its leader, Bradley, and his brother George.
They derive six or seven banks in the Midwest and kidnap a banker for a redemption of thirty thousand dollars before deciding to kill the banker anyway.
The other members of the band are the brothers Joe and Cal Conklin, Arthur “Creeping Jesus” Malloy, the handsome Patrick Caudy, the common wife of George, Kitty Donahue and the girlfriend of Caudy, Marie Hauser.
Kitchener Ironworks’ explosion:
The Kitchener Ironworks was an iron iron outside Derry. In 1906, although every car in the processing had been completely closed, the Ironworks exploded inexplicably, killing a group of 88 children and 102 total people who were participating in an Easter egg hunt.
The tragedy was caused by it by sabotaged the equipment, presumably responsible for eight missing bodies. This marked the beginning of the 27 -year -old lethargy period of the creature.
