The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman Recently open on why we don’t see Robert Downey Jr.Doctor Doom as the main villain of the film.
In an interview with Entertainment WeeklyShakman explained the back reason holding Doom in this film, saying:
“Doom is a great character, but he takes a lot of air. Other cinematographic adaptations have made both a story of origin and a doom. We are not doing any of the two and this allows us to look at them from a new perspective.”
It is an acute pivot from how Doom has been managed in previous films, where it was practically inseparable by the history of origin of the team. Shakman, on the other hand, is guiding this version towards an unexplored territory.
There is no Rehash of origin here and Doom does not hide in the shadows. Instead, Marvel is saving him for something bigger.
Downey Jr., entering the role of Victor Von Doom, will make his first appearance Avengers: Doomsdaywhich is set for 2026 and will also report the new Fantastic Four Cast: Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph QuinnAND Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
It is all part of the wider reshuffle of the Marvel of his plans as a Saga Multiverse, especially after the rebranding of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty TO Avengers: Doomsday. But I think there is a possibility that Doom can present himself in the post-cried scene The Four Fantastic.
For Shakman, to prevent Doom from opening space to focus on a new threat, Galactus, the cosmic giant who is played by Ralph InesionAnd I can’t wait to take a adequate look at this marvel bad epic!
Without Doom to obscure the team’s debut, the film seems to give Marvel’s first family chamber to breathe and possibly redefine the way their story is told. The film will arrive in cinemas on July 25, 2025.
