If you wondered where Michael Rooker would open James Gunn’S SupermanWe learned that the actor preferred by the fans, known for his turning out of blue skin like Yondu in Guardians of the galaxyIt is officially expressing one of the Kryptonian robots in the next Gunn DC restart.
The revelation came out of the kind concession of the new peek Superman. In the movie, a wounded Superman is dragged by his faithful Krypt dog to the fortress of solitude.
There, he is encountered by a Kryptonian custodian robot team. Robot 4, dubbed by Alan TudykHe is the first to speak. But on the brand 3:09, another robotic voice plays in: “Fourteen fractured bones”. This is Michael Rooker as robot 5.
Rooker and Gunn have worked together on several projects, too Slip, Super, Suicideand, of course, the Guardians trilogy. This is Rooker’s second time to enter the Sandbox DC under the direction of Gunn, following his role as Savant in 2021 Suicide.
While fans hypothesized last year that Rooker could play General Sam Lane, those voices were crushed when Gunn dispelled that voice.
In 2022, Rooker spoke of working in the Marvel and DC universes during an interview with the Geek House Show. When he was asked if the process of making cinema differs between the two studies, he shook him off, saying:
“Oh, from my point of view, is the same process. It doesn’t matter for which study you are working, they are the same.”
He added that he was to wear a “heavier make -up” for Yondu Gotg that for Savant in Suicide.
So, while Rooker will not move for Kryptonite or flying military helicopters like Lois Lane’s father, his gravelly tone still gets his way into Gunn Superman.
