Jon Bernthal (The punisher, The walking dead) has been added to the range of stars it makes up Christopher Nolan’S (Start, Oppenheimer) upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey.
He joins previously announced cast members Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson AND Charlize Theron.
Last month, Universal revealed Nolan’s follow-up to his Oscar-winning Oppenheimer It would be an adaptation of the epic poem composed by Homer around the 8th century BC
Ancient Greek poetry is one of the fundamental texts of Western literature. It tells the story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, exploring themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning, and fighting against divine will.
The tale includes iconic stories such as Odysseus’ encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the Witch-Goddess Circe, culminating in a reunion with his wife Penelope.
The Odyssey It is expected to begin filming next month and hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
