James Gunn explains why his DC shows will stick to the “One Episode a Week” schedule.

James Gunn has once again confirmed that it will stick to its DCU series release plan which will see the release of one episode per week, rather than dropping them all at once.

When a fan asks him why all the episodes of the DC animated series Commando of creatures it wasn’t released all at once, Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and director of Superman, explained on X:

“Because it gives a quality show an opportunity to discuss and grow from week to week. [Creature Commandos] it has become more popular with each episode thanks to the positive discussion around it and has cultivated an enthusiastic audience.

“If we had dropped all the episodes at once who knows what would have happened. I’ll probably always be in camp once a week for our shows. For those who want to binge it all at once, you can wait until the end of the season.”

Gunn has a strong motivation behind why he wants to maintain his one-episode release schedule for his shows.

Commando of creatures was just renewed for a second season and “follows the trail of a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they are your last, worst option.”

The team in the series consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon. The voice cast includes Davide Porto as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as Weasel and GI Robot, Franco Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova in the role of Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma in the role of the Bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
