Chris Evans’ version of Steve Rogers in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY revealed

The version of Chris Evans’Steve Rogers in Avengers: Judgment Day has reportedly been revealed. When it was announced that Evans would be cast in the Marvel film, one thing the report noted was that he might not be right for Captain America.

I knew he was going to play a version of Steve Rogers and since it leaked, I can tell you the version of Rogers that Evans will play.

SPOILER ALERT for those of you who don’t want to know. The news comes from trusted Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider.

Speaking on The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha, Sneider said: “I heard who the character is… I was talking about it today, and someone mentioned it… Nomad.”

Even if it’s just a rumor, I heard about it a few months ago too. At one point Marvel was actually developing a Nomad movie that Chris Evans would star in and that would have seen Steve Roger’s Nomad return the Infinity Stones to their rightful place, but that movie was scrapped.

So, it makes sense that Marvel would keep this character in Doomsday, and it will be interesting to see how he is introduced and used in the story if that’s true.

But my guess is that this version of Nomad is Steve Rogers of Earth-616, and that he became Nomad after leaving with the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame.

Nomad is the alternate identity that Steve Rogers assumes in the 1974 comic Captain America #180. In this storyline, he abandons the Captain America moniker after losing faith in the United States government and becomes a man who serves no country.

What do you think about Evan’s possible casting as Nomad in Avengers: Doomsday? What are some of your theories about his involvement?

Avengers: Doomsday arrives May 1, 2026.
