Greek mythology meets found footage in the trailer for the horror film HIS NAME WAS MORMO

Here’s the trailer for a claustrophobic found footage horror film titled His name was Mormoand the story blends reality with fiction.

In the film, “A young family’s life turns into chaos as a sinister presence targets each member in its own way. Through the lens of police evidence, Mark, Diana and Mia endure the torment of a demon deeply rooted in Greek mythology.

The film was written and directed by Mark Andrew Bowersand stars in the film alongside his real family.

His name was Mormo began by “documenting the experiences of a young family settling into their new home. Initially not scheduled for release, the story transformed after the discovery of a dilapidated village, leading to an improvised production. As the narrative unfolded unscripted, the filmmakers encountered unusual events off-camera.

“The turbulence of the production reached its peak when Greek symbolism was incorporated into their home, leaving Marcela with the unsettling feeling of being watched, leading her to keep the curtains drawn day and night.

“Mark experienced the unsettling sensation of a presence next to him, while their puppy Romeo often barked in dark corners and yelped as he walked in circles.

“These events were woven into the fabric of the production as the family’s disturbing experiences fueled their determination to complete the project as quickly as possible.”

Bowers said in a statement: “The journey has been both challenging and terrifying, but the outcome is something we can’t wait to share with audiences around the world. We look forward to partnering with Uncork’d and sharing our story with audiences around the world.”

His name was Mormo makes its theatrical debut on November 9, 2024, followed by a digital release on November 26, 2024.
