Jessica Alba (The city of sin) has joined the cast of the upcoming sports car biopic Maserati: The Brothers. He joins the previous cast Anthony Hopkins, Michele Morrone AND Andy Garcia.
The film will tell the story of the brothers behind the iconic Italian car. Alba will take on a “pivotal” role in the film as Sandra. Garcia will play Mr. Rossini. Morrone will play brother Alfieri Maserati. Hopkins will play an Italian financier who finances the family.
Producer Andrea Iervolino said of Alba’s casting: “Jessica Alba is an artist of remarkable versatility and screen presence.
“His ability to bring authenticity to every role he plays adds a unique quality Maserati: The Brothers. We are certain that his contribution will enrich this story of passion, challenges and Italian innovation.”
Maserati was founded in 1914, in Bologna, Italy, and the company was initially an automotive workshop dedicated to the production of racing cars.
The Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Ettore and Ernesto, were passionate about engineering and motorsports, which heavily influenced their early innovations. Under their leadership, Maserati quickly established itself in the world of competitive racing, achieving important victories, including the prestigious Targa Florio.
The brand’s distinctive trident logo, designed by Mario Maserati, symbolizes power and draws inspiration from the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna.
Alfieri Maserati, one of the founding brothers and a talented engineer, was particularly instrumental in bringing about the company’s early successes. His vision and technical expertise led Maserati to develop cutting-edge engines and designs that defined the brand’s identity.
After Alfieri’s untimely death in 1932, his brothers carried on the business, continuing to hone Maserati’s reputation for creating world-class luxury and sports cars.
Throughout its history, the company has undergone several changes of ownership, but remains synonymous with Italian craftsmanship, luxury and speed, producing iconic models such as the GranTurismo and Quattroporte, admired by enthusiasts and collectors around the world.
Filming is expected to begin late next month in Italy.
Alba recently starred in the Netflix thriller Activation notice and continues to host the Roku Original reality series Honest renovations.
