Warner Bros. has released a trailer for DC Animation Watchmen: Chapter 2the second of a two-part film the studio has been developing.
The two-part film is basically a shot-for-shot adaptation of the classic graphic novel created by Alan Moore AND Dave Gibbons.
In the alternative America of 1985, “costumed superheroes are part of everyday life. When one of his former comrades is murdered in his apartment, the masked vigilante known as Rorschach uncovers a plot to kill and discredit all superheroes past and present.
“As he reconnects with his retired associates, only one of whom has true powers (Doctor Manhattan), Rorschach glimpses a far-reaching conspiracy involving their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future of the world.”
The voice cast includes Tito Welliver like Rorschach, Rick D. Wasserman in the role of the Comedian, Katee Sackhoff as Silk Wraith II, Adriana Barbeau as Silk Wraith I, Troy Baker as Veidt/Ozymandias, Matthew Rhys in the role of Night Owl, Michele Cerveris as Dr. Manhattan, and Jeffrey Combs like Moloch.
Both films were directed by Brandon Vietti (Superman: Judgment Day, The BatmanAND The brave and the bold)
Watchmen: Chapter 2 will be released on VOD on November 26, 2024 and then on Blu-ray starting on December 3.
