Director Frank Darabont reveals why he came out of retirement to direct episodes of STRANGER THINGS season five

Frank Darabontthe director behind two of the best Stephen King film adaptations of all time, The Shawshank Redemption AND The green milecame out of retirement to direct two episodes of Stranger things Season 5.

To be honest, I didn’t even know Darabont was retired! After his work on The walking deadthe neo-noir crime film Mafia cityhero Jon Bernthalwhich was canceled after one season, and that lawsuit he brought with AMC, I thought he was taking a break. But it turns out he just upped and retired.

Darabont recently spoke with The Daily Beast and during the interview he revealed why he came out of retirement to direct a couple of episodes of Stranger things Season 5.

He shared, “What really dragged me out of retirement was the fact that my wife and I really love this show. Our content now is so full of horrible people doing horrible things for greedy reasons but Stranger things he has a lot of heart. That positivity is something I really responded to.”

I love the idea Darabont had Stranger things because of the heart and positivity of the show. It’s really great, but I would love for Darabont to direct another movie again one day.

Darabont is one of my favorite directors of all time and I just hope that when he directs those two episodes of Stranger thingsinspired him to want to make another film. But if he chooses to return to retirement, at least we’ll have those Stranger things episodes from him.

With Stephen King exerting a great influence on Stranger thingsDarabont seems perfect for the show. narrator and director, a master of the craft.

Shawn Levy (Deadpool 3) AND The Duffer Brothers will direct additional episodes in the final season of Stranger Things with the Duffers starring in 5 of the 8 episodes.

Stranger thingsThe final season will be the biggest yet, with feature films. Previously speaking about the final season, Ross Duffer shared that this final chapter of the story will be an emotional arc for Will Byers (Noah Grappa) and which will tie the entire series together.

Ross Duffer explained: “Will will take center stage again [season] 5. This emotional arc for him is what will hopefully unite the entire series. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one who is protected. So part of his journey isn’t just sexuality: it’s Will coming out as a young man.”

When described above Stranger things 5said the writing team in the next chapter of the story, “it’s like season one and season four had a baby. And then that child was injected with steroids.”

While we don’t know much about what the story will entail, we do know that the final episodes “return to season one.” Matt Duffer he previously said, “We’re starting to see him come of age, really, which has been challenging for a number of reasons; some of which are supernatural. But you’re starting to see him come into his own.”

Ross Duffer he added, “I think you’ll see that with a couple of character arcs, not just with Will. But also with Steve and Nancy, and his relationship with Jonathan, where things aren’t completely resolved. The characters maybe have made some steps, as in Will’s case, but that journey isn’t over yet. That’s going to play a huge role as we try to wrap this thing up next season.

Noah Grappa he also said, “I can just tell you that I’m very, very excited for what’s to come. I think they’ve done a great job with Will’s character this season, and they’ve handled everything they need to do beautifully. The way they they closed the show is just perfect: the story began with Will and will end with Will.”

The show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, and follows a group of friends as they investigate supernatural events and government conspiracies as they plunge the small Midwestern town into an apocalyptic nightmare. The series has been praised for its strong cast, twisting plots and nostalgic references to 1980s pop culture, which Hamilton fits perfectly into.

Stranger Things 5 will be the last time Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Luca (Caleb McLaughlin), Maximum (Sadie Sink), and the rest of the Hawkins gang are all together for one last fight against the evil Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
