Here’s a trailer for an independent sci-fi thriller titled In vitroset in the near future on a struggling cattle farm. The story centers on a woman who discovers that her husband’s animal farming technology has disturbing consequences.
In the film: “Layla and her husband Jack live on a remote cattle ranch hundreds of miles from the nearest town. Over the years, the ongoing climate crisis has had a devastating impact on the agricultural industry and Jack has been working on an alternative process for raising cattle.
“However, it’s been a lonely existence on the farm, and Layla and Jack’s once-loving relationship isn’t what it once was. While Jack spends his days tending to livestock and experimenting with new biotechnologies, Layla longs to be with her son Toby who’s away at boarding school.
“One night, everything changes when the property goes into a blackout and Jack is attacked. When Layla examines his injuries, Jack assures her that everything is fine and that it was just a cattle accident. But something doesn’t add up for Layla and she can’t shake the worry.
“As Layla begins to search the property and investigate further, Jack’s behavior becomes increasingly authoritarian, until Layla discovers a disturbing presence on the farm.”
The film is co-directed by It will be Howarth AND Tom McKeithwho are making their first feature film together. The film stars Talia Zucker AND Ashley Zuckerman.
It looks like an interesting movie. No release date yet.
