During the Disney Parks panel at D23, several new rides and attractions were announced, and Marvel’s Avengers Campus at California Adventure will finally get two long-awaited attractions.
President of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro announced that construction of these new attractions will begin next year and among them will be Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.
Avengers Infinity Defense will arrive first and will focus on the technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds. That technology is missing and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc.
Recruits on the journey will visit iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda and New York City alongside various Marvel heroes, and guests may come face-to-face with King Thanos.
The next attraction, Stark Flight Lab, will see the return of by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man. Yes, he will return once again before taking on the role of Doctor Doom for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
In this ride, Tony Stark has a mission for eager recruits, where you sit in a two-person pod and line up at a testing station. Then a robotic arm grabs your pod and starts spinning you around in a simulated flight.
Additionally, Shanghai Disneyland will feature a new Spider-Man roller coaster, while Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland will feature an attraction themed around Stark Industries intern Spider-Man.
A new attraction is coming to Hong Kong Disneyland’s Stark Expo featuring Stark Industries’ newest intern, Spider-Man!
Below I have included concept art for all of these Marvel attractions.
