Christina Ricci Talks YELLOWJACKETS Season 3 Calling It ‘Shocking’ and ‘Brutal’

Yellow jackets Season 3 is currently in production and while we wait for the release of the next season, star of the series Cristina Ricci is teasing what fans can expect from the next chapter of the story.

During a recent interview with THR, Ricci said fans should prepare because it will be more shocking and brutal than previous seasons. He described it as “extremely Yellowjackets”.

Ricci said, “This season is going to be even more shocking and surprising than previous seasons. It’s definitely going to be brutal. But they’re also going to put a lot of comedy into it. So, I think it’s just going to be… extremely Yellowjackets.” -y.”

Ricci also talked about filming the new season of Yellowjackets and how it was bittersweet because Juliet Lewis isn’t involved. At the end of season two, Lewis’ character Natalie was accidentally killed by Ricci’s Misty.

She said: “We bonded and spent so much time together, and we really loved each other. It was really sad that her character was killed off. Even now, we’ve shot a couple of episodes, and it’s sad without Juliet.” .”

“The showrunners of the series, Ashley Lyle, Bart NickersonAND Jonathan Liscohe previously shared an update on the show, saying, “Everyone came back so incredibly excited, raring to go and creatively reinvigorated.”

Yellow jackets director and producer Karyn Kusama he previously teased what was to come, saying, “I was so excited by this. The concept of that immediate consequence of re-entering the world, for me, has an entire season’s worth of material.

“And the fact that this is such a long game that each of these characters are faced with, in terms of reorienting themselves to whatever normality is supposed to be. I’m sure we’ll learn that their normality is very different from ours… There’s a lot to understand between seasons two and three.”

Lyle previously revealed that they had a five-season plan and were on track to realize the entire story they wanted to tell. When they talked about the comprehensive plan they initially pitched, they explained why they believe five seasons is the right stopping point.

Lyle shared, “The original plan was about five seasons, and we feel like we’re still on track to get that done. There’s always room for things. We don’t really see it as anything more than a five-season show.

“I think there are series that can last forever, but I think when you’re telling a story that’s so deeply serialized and it’s about the lives of these characters, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever.

“This isn’t really one of those setups that shows where it can go anywhere. So far we have been really on the right track. Season two is largely what we always planned, but you make a lot of discoveries along the way so it’s always a little surprising.”

Yellowjackets is the saga of “a team of highly talented high school soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness.

“The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to a wild clan, while also charting the lives they’ve attempted to put back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really the past and what began in the wilderness is far from over.”

The ensemble cast of Yellow jackets includes Sophie Nelisse, Brown Savoy Jasmine, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Liv Hewson AND Courtney Eaton in the 1996 era, while their counterparts are played in the 2021 era Melanie Lynkey, Fawn cypress, Juliet Lewis, Cristina Ricci, Lauren Ambrose AND Simone Kessell.
