While Tom Holland he was heavily involved in the development of the follow-up Spiderman and will 100% reprise the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man, his co-star Jacob Batalon he is unaware of what is going on.
Batalon, who plays Ned Leeds in the franchise, has no idea what’s going on or what his future in the MCU will look like, but he’s expected to return.
During a recent interview with CB, Batalon was asked about the film and his role in it, and he said, “I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what the future holds for any of them in that world.”
The actor added: “I feel like if things happen, they happen. I hope so. I absolutely hope so. It’s sad that I don’t have any more friends.”
It will be really interesting to see where Marvel and the creative team take the next chapter of the story, especially how Spider-Man: No Way Home concluded.
Everyone Peter cares about has forgotten that he’s Spider-Man and he doesn’t really have any friends. They have no memory of their experiences with him! He’s pretty wild!
It could be a really cool, interesting, exciting character study. The latest film also teased a possible future for Ned to become a sorcerer, as he learned to use Doctor Strange’s sling ring, opening portals in the process. He could also end up being Spider-Man’s enemy, which is intriguing.
Ned may eventually become the Hobgoblin. There was also some concept art of Spider-Man: No Way Home in which Ned rode Norman Osborn’s glider.
When asked about the character’s villainous future, Batalon said, “Who knows? Maybe. Hopefully.”
What direction would you like to see Ned’s story go in the next Spider-Man movie?
