Quiver has released a bizarre trailer for a quirky and fun indie film titled Willie and me. The film was written and directed by Eva Hasmannwho also stars in the film alongside Willie Nelson. The film seems a little rough, but at the same time it has a charm that audiences might appreciate.
In Willie and Me, “Greta Weingarten (Hassmann) is a housewife trapped in a stagnant marriage. One evening, while serving dinner to her successful but bland husband, she learns of Willie Nelson’s farewell concert. Through her music, she is transported back to her disconnected childhood. Greta is suddenly overwhelmed by the need to see Willie Nelson and will do anything to be at his last concert in Las Vegas. She sets out on her journey, leaving behind her husband and the comfortable life she knows. With everything against her, but so much ahead of her, she realizes that the return ticket becomes her “heaviest baggage.”
The film is also the protagonist Peter Bogdanovich, Darby Stanchfield, Blaine GrayAND Thu Riefenstein. The quiver will be released Willie and me in select US theaters and on VOD on February 9, 2024.
