Glen Powell said this in an interview with Fashion this is a new one Twister Video coming. It is neither a sequel nor a reboot of the 1996 film starring Helen Hunt and the late Bill Paxton.

“We’re not trying to recreate history from scratch,” Powell said. “It’s a completely original story. No characters from the original film return, so it’s not really a sequel. It is simply its own self-contained story in modern times.
Filming “finished a few nights ago,” he added. “I don’t think anyone has mentioned this movie in ages, but when I talk to people, they say, ‘That was one of my favorite movies as a kid.’ That movie scared me,” he said.
Powell said the overarching theme of the new one Twister The film will appeal to the audience.
