Marvel Studios is reportedly starting work on a NOVA film

In recent years there have been reports about the development of Marvel Studios a Nova project. A couple of years ago it was reported that the studio began working on it Knight of the Moon writer Sabir Pirzada working on a screenplay. What we didn’t know at the time was whether the project would be a TV series or a film. Most rumors suggested it was a Disney+ series.

According to a new report from industry insiders Daniele Richtmannthe plan was originally supposed to be developed Nova as a series, but now Marvel is reworking it as a movie. It is unknown whether Pirzada is still involved in the project.

President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige We previously talked about Nova’s potential introduction into the MCU, saying:

“Nova is… if we have a big board with a group of characters that have more immediate potential, Nova is on that board. Because of the connection to the Guardians universe, because there are more interesting examples to draw from in the comics. And you’re absolutely right, it was in the early drafts of the [Guardians of the Galaxy].”

Fans at one point assumed that Nova would appear Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but this did not happen. At this point, given how the MCU is, who knows when the character will be introduced? Maybe later Avengers: Secret Wars?

Nova was originally introduced in the 1966 issue of Super Adventures and was a member of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps. She has superhuman abilities including enhanced strength, flight, and resistance to injury.

There are two versions of Nova in Marvel Comics: Richard Rider and Sam Alexander. When previously asked if fans would see Richard Rider and/or Sam Alexander in a film or any other upcoming MCU projects, Feige responded with “well, yes and yes” and added:

“Timing is relative, right? I think I talked about Doctor Strange eight years before the movie came out. So, the ‘immediate potential’ is relative. But clearly, we’re not shying away from the cosmic end of storytelling right now.” the weak point of the Nova Corps and of Nova itself.”

Here are some details on the origins of each of these versions of the characters:

Riccardo Cavaliere:

Richard Rider was just your average teenager. Not the class clown, not the wallflower, not the nice guy. He was in high school, had problems with girls, and tried to help his parents and younger brother when he was at home. Everything seemed to be going well for young Richard until he came into contact with the Nova Corps. The Nova Corps was a peacekeeping force based on the planet Xandar. The planet was destroyed by the space pirate known as Zorr. When Rhomann Dey, Nova Prime, was dying, he fled across the universe and went to Earth. There he chose Richard Rider to receive his powers and granted him the Nova Force. Rhomann Dey asked him to use his powers for the good of the Earth and the universe and to act as his protector. This was a lot for the teenage Rider, but he still began a superhero career with his new powers as Nova, the Human Rocket!

Sam Alexander:

Sam Alexander is 15 years old from Carefree, Arizona, and lives with his parents and younger sister. His father always told him stories of adventures in space and in the Nova Corps, yet Sam always believed that he was a drunk. One day, when he returns home, Sam discovers that his father is missing and has an accident while looking for him. Waking up in the hospital, he is greeted by Gamora and Rocket Raccoon, who inform Sam of his father’s true legacy as a member of the Nova Corps, leaving Sam with his helmet. After donning the helmet, Sam discovers a recorded message from his father and begins testing his new abilities, flying to the moon and finding the Watcher. After the Watcher tells Sam about an impending alien invasion, Sam returns home and meets Gamora and Rocket Racoon who train him to use his abilities correctly and then send him into space to stop the approaching Chitauri army .
