THE MARVELS star Iman Vellani talks about how the Young Avengers could distinguish themselves from the original Avengers

An exciting plot that comes from the recent MCU movie The wonders came in the form of a mid-credits scene that found Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) sitting in the darkness of Kate Bishop’s apartment, ready to invite her to be a young avenger, a la Nick Fury from the first Iron Man. Since then, fans have been speculating about who else will be joining their crew.

Vellani has also spoken enthusiastically about the future of the group, and recently spoke in-depth with ScreenRant about the possibilities and how he believes the Young Avengers will distinguish themselves from the originals:

“They have perspectives that the older Avengers don’t have, especially because they’ve had to deal with the repercussions, but they’re also fans of the older Avengers. So I think they can really make this team something new. I think it’s going to be a lot more functional than the Avengers were. I think Kamala being in charge could also set the tone in a really beautiful way. I think she is a born leader.

She’s not only the glue of Marvel, but she could be the glue of the younger group of Avengers because she’s mature and intelligent, and she also has all this knowledge about being superheroes and teamwork and how to do it in a way that’s ideal. and it works for everyone. And she probably learned so much from working on the Marvels, so she can bring that to the Young Avengers. But yeah, I think they’re definitely going to be a group that younger audiences can resonate with and relate to a lot more. I think their views on social justice issues, I think their views just on the world in general and what’s needed is much more important.

They feel like the group that’s going to understand humanity and the value of human life much more than I think the older group does because they’re part of it, right? They have relationships there. They go to school, they have their friends, they have their idols and their mentors. And I think all of these relationships will anchor this group much more than we have mentors who are billionaires, and you have a guy frozen from the 1940s. So they are definitely much more aware of reality.

I think there is a lot of potential in the younger group. Many young fans will be able to identify with them, and they will be able to tell different stories than what we have already seen. I can’t wait to see what the MCU has in store regarding the Young Avengers.
