Fantastic new cinematic surfaces from the unreleased Marvel video game DAREDEVIL for PS2

Nearly 20 years ago Marvel and Sony were developing a video game titled Daredevil: the man without fear for PlayStation 2. The game ended up being cancelled, but after all these years footage and a prototype of the game have surfaced online!

The 17-minute video features all gameplay aspects of the game and Daredevil’s fighting mechanics. It comes complete with the game’s opening title screen, menu, and story narration. The game’s story is told from the point of view of Matt Murdock himself, who mentions other characters such as Foggy Nelson, Kingpin, and Elektra.

The game was supposed to feature a series of vignettes, each highlighting some of Daredevil’s most iconic story arcs and characters. Apparently, Frank MillerThe comic’s run was highly inspirational, and the game would include characters like Elektra, Bullseye, Kingpin, and even the Punisher.

There were many problems with the development of the game because the creative team couldn’t agree on some aspects. It was after the Ben Affleck Reckless it was announced that the film changed everything and entered an open world Grand Theft Auto type of game.

For a while, development seemed to be going well with the changes, but Sony and Marvel simply had different visions that ultimately killed the project. Sony wanted creative gameplay mechanics and Marvel wanted to stick closer to the simple things and stick to the character’s roots. They simply couldn’t get on the same page, which led to the end of the project.
