There is a rumor spreading online that Daniel Radcliffe he’s playing a version of Wolverine in Deadpool 3. The actor has also been training and passionate, so many fans think this rumor might be true. Well, Radcliffe recently talked about his muscle gain and says it’s not because he plays Wolverine.
Radcliffe was asked We cheerfully proceed musical co-stars Jonathan Groff AND Lindsay Mendez during a Vanity Fair lie detector test whether he started the Wolverine rumors and whether the reason he was gaining muscle was to play the character, which he denied. He said:
“NO. YES. I got into it because I’m obsessive and I want… You saw my parents, they’re like crazy fitness people. So it just got passed on. But no. No Wolverine. Flattered, but no.
He’s in the middle of a lie detector test when he says this, and it sounds like he’s telling the truth. So, don’t expect to see Radcliffe as Wolverine Deadpool 3.
Radcliffe was once asked if he would play Wolverine in the MCU, and the actor explained that he doesn’t think Marvel would cast anyone like him next Hugh Jackman, but he also called on Marvel to prove him wrong. He said:
“So many times, people come up to me like, ‘hey man, I heard the news about Wolverine, that’s really cool.’ No, I don’t know anything about that. Like, I appreciate that someone is clearly saying ‘Wolverine is actually short in the comics, you’d have to become a short guy to do that!’ But I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.”
Radcliffe later said that the rumors of him taking the role are “purely rumors of a press tour”. He explained: “I say something, and then every now and then I get bored of responding that way, so I say something different, and that starts it all again. I should never open my mouth.” Radcliffe added at the time: “I never want to be stuck in something that I’m not sure I can love equally all the time.”
In another interview with EW, when the actor was asked about the Wolverine rumors, he said, “Wolverine is short, so every now and then they say, ‘Who’s a short actor?’ There has never been any truth to it. Every now and then I get bored of answering questions sensibly, so I just make a joke like I did the other day and it reignited the rumors about it, but nothing is happening.
