James Cameronis a classic 1986 sci-fi action film Aliens is getting the 4K treatment according to a recent report making the rounds online. There are two more Cameron films getting the 4K makeover, which also includes the Arnold Schwarzenegger action comedy Real liesand science fiction drama The abyss.
We know that Cameron was involved in the 4K remastering The abyssso I imagine he’s also involved in the remastering of Real lies AND Aliens Also.
Aliens it was the first R-rated film I ever saw in the cinema and, as a child, it blew me away! Aliens it is also considered one of the greatest sequels of all time. While the original film depicted the terror of an extraterrestrial hunting the crew of a spaceship in a confined environment, Aliens amps up the stakes by introducing a colony of the titular creatures.
Set 57 years after the events of the first film, the plot follows Ellen Ripley, once again played by Sigourney Weaver, as she awakens from stasis. She reluctantly agrees to join a team of Colonial Marines on a mission to the now-colonized planet where her crew first encountered the alien species, only to find that the entire colony has been overrun by xenomorphs.
I’m pretty excited about this Aliens is finally getting a 4K Ultra HD version! There are no details on when the release will arrive, but I can’t wait!
