David Port he’s talking about his next animated project Commandos creature again, and this time it’s about his character, Eric Frankenstein. He talks about the creature’s backstory and personality traits. He also confirms that he will one day reprise the role in a live-action project. While a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Harbor joked:
“It’s a very interesting take on Frankenstein, because one of the great things about Frankenstein is that he was raised to be a model of a learned man, and he still has this strange inhuman anger and confusion within him. So he was a great character to play.” He’s so much fun. And James is such an incredible guy. I’ve always wanted to work for him, and I suppose in terms of building this universe, there’s a lot of opportunity for these characters to all be different iterations. There could be a live-action thing, there could be a cartoon, there could be anything.
Speaking about his eventual live-action portrayal of Eric Frankenstein, he said:
“A version of Eric Frankenstein. Less beard, maybe. You think about what he did with that Guardians thing, what he did with the character, what he did with different action sequences. It’s just exciting to be a part of that thing, with someone to start this thing and someone with such a creative brain. Yeah, that’s great. And the recording – we did a lot of it and it was fun as hell. We were dying in the room. I’m usually pretty serious. I don’t know. It’s really not We screwed up and we were dying. It’s outrageous. I can’t wait for you to see it.
The Creature Commandos team consists of monsters and superheroes and they were believed to be fighting the Nazis during World War II. The team consists of a human, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster and a gorgon.
Gunn recently clarified on social media that Commandos creature takes place in the “current day” as the monster team will be working under the supervision of Amanda Waller. Gunn also believes this series is “Some of the best stuff he’s ever written,” so it should excite fans.
The voice cast also includes Sean Gunn as Weasel and GI Robot, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma like the bride, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk such as Doctor Phosphorus, with Steve Agee reprising his role as John Economos from Peacemaker.
Gunn previously said of the series: “Commandos creature it builds on the great team at DC. What we’re doing with the DCU is the animation is tied directly into the live action. Television, movies, and games all intertwine in the same universe. We will be casting actors who will be able to play characters in this as well as other things, some of which we have already cast. I wrote all seven episodes of the show.
Commandos creature does not have a release date yet, but the series will come out sooner Superman: Legacywhich is currently scheduled for July 11, 2025.
