A few months ago, it was announced that Max is moving forward with a Harry Potter series, with author JK Rowling executive production. The series will cast young actors in the roles of the main characters and the series will be released over the next ten years. This will give the streamer the ability to tell fans the full story of the books in the longer format, without skipping story details that may have been missed in the movies.
Talking to Variety about her Emmy nomination for playing Weird Al Yankovic In Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Daniel Radcliffwho famously played Harry Potter in every Warner Bros. film in the franchise, was asked what he thought of the upcoming series, and he said:
“I’m excited about this as a viewer. I will be able to enjoy it with everyone else possibly, with a slightly different perspective. It’s great that a whole new generation is being introduced to stories in a new way. They’re going to see it as a TV series, so they’ll probably have time to delve into all the stuff. So for the people who were upset about the stuff that was cut from the movie, hopefully they can finally see the full version they wanted.
I am one of those fans! I loved the books so much and it was hard to see things left out of the stories, especially starting with book four and moving forward. There are so many details in the books that it was difficult to translate into a film. I can’t wait to see those details explored and those scenes played out on screen.
