Beloved indie video game VAMPIRE SURVIVORS is getting an animated series

Vampire survivors it’s a little indie poncle game that did great. It’s available to play on mobile, PC, and even Xbox (affiliate link) and pretty much everyone loves it. I talked about how awesome a game it is earlier this year. Deadline reported that Poncle is working with Story Kitchen to adapt the game into an animated television series. Here is the official description of the game courtesy of Steam:

Shoot down thousands of nocturnal creatures and survive until dawn! Vampire Survivors is a gothic horror casual game with rogue-lite elements, where your choices can allow you to quickly deal with the hundreds of monsters thrown at you.

This is really interesting. I enjoyed myself Vampire survivors, but there really isn’t a story or much lore that I’m aware of. It will be interesting to see how the various characters will be characterized. In the game, you control one of many different characters and they automatically attack waves of enemies with a wide variety of weapons such as whips, daggers, garlic, and more. Luca Galantefounder of poncle, shared his enthusiasm for the project:

The biggest thing in Vampire Survivors is the story, so it’s a dream come true to see what started as a little indie game I made in my weekends come to life as an animated TV show! It’s also great to collaborate with such experienced and talented people to make the show. I wonder if they realized there isn’t a single vampire in Vampire Survivors, though.

Hundreds of hours of gameplay later, we were all hooked and couldn’t get enough!! Based on the report, a writer is still being sought and the project will be sold to several animated TV network buyers. I think a Vampire Survivors series could actually do well on Adult Swim, although I could also see it going to Max or Netflix. Are you excited for a Vampire survivors series?
