The story is set in 1977 and follows a car salesman named Lou (McGregor), who “goes from ordinary small-town citizen to FBI informant who infiltrates the mob when a key member of organized crime offers to buy his Cadillac dealership”.
Over the next three years, “Lou finds his pursuit of glory tested as he becomes entangled in the inner workings of the crime family – from being the frontman of a multimillion-dollar operation, to becoming a surrogate son – before landing his first conviction in absolute of a notorious crime boss.
It looks like it will be another big project that McGregor will be a part of. That’s the kind of character he’s going to be great with. The actor has versatility and reach, he has a knack for convincingly portraying a wide variety of characters, from intense and dramatic to more lighthearted and comedic roles. He brings a naturalistic and authentic quality to his performances.
Timothy Greenberg (The Daily Show, Living with Yourself) will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the series.
