‘Fixer Upper: The Hotel’: Everything we know about Chip and Joanna Gaines’ spin-off

There’s a new hotel in town! HGTV alumnus splinter AND joana Profits announced on April 12 that his new show, Upper Fixer: The Hotel, will premiere in November on Magnolia Network and HBO Max. “Guys, let’s get a hotel in downtown Waco, Texas! Chip, 48, gushed in his debut trailer while wearing a stereotypical messenger uniform. The following trailer showed various clips of the 50,000 square foot space and images of its renovations as Chip described how significant the “major league” project was to him. “This is what you dream about,” he explained, “and I think Jo and I are out of our element to a point, but I think we’re up for the challenge.”

The trailer ended with a sweet clip of the famous couple dancing in a room in their new project. “So we have some work to do…and we will keep you posted,” said the 44-year-old interior designer and entrepreneur. Last year, Chip and Jo renovated a 100-year-old castle in Waco Upper Fixer: The Castle.

“For us, this project represents everything we are most passionate about: hospitality, dining and the home,” the duo said in a statement, via Variety. “We have always firmly believed in the value of the home, as a place but also as a feeling. Our dream for this hotel is to serve as an extension of the home for every guest who comes to stay.”

The hotel will be called Hotel 1928 and will occupy the Grand Karem Shrine building in Waco, according to Variety. It will house 33 rooms, a restaurant and a ballroom. “This has been the biggest project of my life, the castle is my second now, with four floors of restaurants and rooms and a full ballroom,” said Joanna. Variety in November 2022. “But both projects, the castle and the hotel, have really been driven by their history, the design has been driven by that more than, what do I want to do with it? It was definitely something that needed to let the story drive this project. As fans know, the parents of five are renovating homes with Jo’s famously relaxed decorating style. They became HGTV superstars after their hit series, superior fixator, which premiered on HGTV in May 2013.
