The official Instagram account of The deal announced the film’s release date for February 27, 2023, releasing a new photo of the cast in costume. “Band of Brothers. Sergeant John Kinley (@jakegyllenhaal) leads his squad into enemy territory with his interpreter Ahmed (@darsalim1) at his side. @guyritchie’s #TheCovenant only in theaters April 21st,” they captioned the powerful photo.

Guy’s new film has an impressive cast that includes not only longtime Hollywood heartthrob Jake, but some exciting newcomers as well! As mentioned above, Dar Salim will be playing the actor, Ahmed, who is also the man who risks his life to help save Jake’s character. Prior to the film’s release, the Left handed star opened up about working on the project with Dar during a new interview with AND! News March 30th. “What do we do when someone saves our lives?” she asked during the clip, before adding, “John and Ahmed are in an extraordinary circumstance.” Dar chimed in and said, “These are two men who need each other to survive and that’s the beauty.” Jake later said that at the “heart” of this “big action movie” is a “real relationship” between the two main characters. “I think you get emotional eventually,” he said. The two stars also posed for some adorable photos together on Jake’s Instagram on April 2 to promote the film. “The boy arrived in Hollywood yesterday and he already has a palm tree growing on his head. @darsalim1,” he captioned the photo carousel.
