First look at photos from the Disney+ series THE MUPPETS MAYHEM All about Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem

Some first photos of the upcoming series have been released Muppet Chaos, all about the Muppet band, Dr. Teeth and Electric Mayhem. Co-created by Muppet veteran Bill Barretta and college mates Jeff York AND Adam F. Goldbergwho also wrote the screenplay for The Muppets Wizard of Oz, the series seeks to break new ground for a relationship between Disney+ and the Muppets.

Muppet Chaos is centered on Nora (Lilly Singh), an aspiring record producer, who with the help of her sister Hannah (Saara Chaudry), and Electric Mayhem superfan, Gary “Moog” Moogowski (Tah Mowry), begins to help the band record their first-ever album.

The idea for a band-centric series started perhaps in an unexpected place when it comes to the Muppets Outside Lands music festival. In 2016, The Electric Mayhem played a set there, prompting Bill Barretta to wonder what possibilities the characters might have for further storytelling.

Barretta explained:

“It was unbelievable. It was… one of the most unbelievable experiences I’ve had with the Muppets. There were something like 30,000 people that came to the park. I was like, ‘Well, there’s something there.’ What if this band goes on tour? What if this band goes on tour? And so, I started developing an idea for a show about the band because we don’t know much about them.”

The series promises many fun surprise cameos, as always happens with the Muppets. But don’t necessarily expect your favorite Muppet to appear. Goldberg explained:

“We’re telling a normal story in the real world with the Muppets. So we tried to ground everything and keep it realistic instead of suddenly there’s talking fruit in your fridge.”
