Netflix announces that ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT will remain on the streamer after backlash from fans

Netflix has announced that it will keep the fan-favorite series Development stopped on the streaming service in the wake of fan backlash when its removal was announced last month. All five seasons of the Jason Bateman-starring sitcom were supposed to leave the streaming platform on March 15. Netflix’s landing page had initially confirmed that the last day to watch the series was Tuesday, March 14th.

But Netflix and 20th Television have struck a new licensing deal for the show, keeping it on Netflix. Hulu will also relinquish the streaming rights to the show’s first three seasons later this year, exclusively merging all series under one Netflix roof.

Development stopped, from 20th Television and Imagine Television, was one of Netflix’s first original comedies. The series, which aired for three seasons on Fox, was revived on Netflix in 2013 with a fourth and fifth season that were split into two parts in 2018 and 2019.

From creator Mitch Hurwitz, Development stopped follows the wealthy dysfunctional Bluth family. In addition to Bateman, the series starred Tony Halle, Portia De Rossi, Will Arnet, Alia Shawkat, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor, Lisa MinnelliAND Jessica Walter.
