GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE sequel adds Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani and more to cast

As a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife begins production, we just learned about it Patton Osvalt, Kumail Nanjianicomic James AsterAND Emily Alyn Lind they joined the cast! They join the returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn WolfhardAND Mckenna Grace. We know it too Ernie Hudson will be involved.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer and executive producer Gil Kenan is directing the sequel, whose working title is Firehouse. Beyond director and co-writer Jason Reitmann will be credited as a writer on the sequel and will also serve as an executive producer.

The film has previously been described as “the next chapter in the Spengler family story.” It will officially return to New York City and is also expected to take place in the fire department headquarters that was featured in the first two ghost Buster movie.

Hudson has also been revealed to have a decent sized role to play in the sequel. Reitman previously shared, “The character of Winston Zeddemore and Zeddemore Industries figures strongly in the future of Ghostbusters.”

Hudson has previously spoken about the script, saying, “I’ve read one version. I’m pretty sure they’re committed to another one. I’m very happy with it, but I also know it’s early days. Jason was incredible, and I love him.” and I really appreciate it. I’m so grateful to be able to work with him. So, I’m excited but… I never have and never assume anything. I’m happy, though, to have Ghostbusters in my filmography. And I’m really happy when I see little kids , two and three years old, singing the song and being happy with it”.

We don’t really know much else beyond that, but there’s a lot of excitement for the sequel and I can’t wait to see what the story will tell. It is also unknown who the new actors will play.
